Salsa

She was just a white girl in
A sea of brown boys
Seemed out of place
Was she just a toy?

The music came on and
He took her to the floor
Couldn't speak his language
But it mattered no more

Bacchata, cumbia, merengue, banda
She didn't know these names so
She let him dip her into what
She knew how to eat: Salsa!

Spicy, quick, 1-2-3 on the 1 or
The 2 - he helped her find her feet
While he lost her in his gaze -
Hearts beat together, spinning on the floor

Lights way down low, nobody would clown
This white girl could get it without being brown.
